Within the EU Fifth Framework Program - “Improving Human Potential”, the Department of Law - University of Turin (Italy) co-ordinates the “Uniform terminology for European Private Law” project. This initiative AIMS to build a research training network to facilitate the national reception of European Community policy within the field of private law.
The NETWORK links seven universities:
Ø University of Turin (Italy),
Ø University of Barcelona (Spain),
Ø University of Lyon 3 (France),
Ø University of Münster (Germany),
Ø University of Nijmegen (The Netherlands),
Ø University of Oxford (United Kingdom),
Ø University of Warsaw (Poland).
The PROGRAM involves young researchers (aged 35 years or less), who must be EU citizens or citizens of a EU Associated State or EU residents for at least five years before her/his appointment. The candidate field of research must be related to one of the following RESEARCH AREAS: European Private Law, Conflict of Laws, Unjust Enrichment, Unfair competition, Consumer Protection, Civil Procedure, Enforcement of judgements and Uniform Terminology for legal translations.
The offered GRANTS vary from a minimum of 1.500 euros to a maximum of 1.800 euro per month for pre-doc researchers [holder of a degree (obtained from a university or equivalent institution of higher education), which qualifies to embark on a doctoral degree] and from a minimum of 3.000 euros to a maximum of 3.500 euros per month for a post-doc researcher [holder of a doctoral degree], in accordance with the University of destination.
To apply for the grants a REQUEST OF MOBILITY must be sent by e-mail to
scienze.giuridiche@unito.it at least six months before the intended period of mobility and should include:
- a curriculum vitae;
- a copy of academic transcripts certifying previous degrees;
- the indication of a principal destination (we encourage to indicate also a second destination);
- the length of the research period (i.e. 4 months: from March 1st until July, 30th 2004);
- a description of the planned research work (no more than 1.000 words), which has to be consistent with at least one of the research areas mentioned above;
- a work plan, indicating both the objectives of the candidate during the research period and the type of scholarly publication submitted to the research network.
